When I read about Deja Vu for review I was really intrigued and could not wait. I assume the reason for that was I already had this book in my library. The wait was over and fully steam ahead into this story and I finished it in one sitting.I was surprised with how much I laughed with Evie’s sarcastic commentary of her life. She had so much going on and no memory to back it up. The snippets as her memory returned gave way to the suspense and mystery aspect of this story. I won’t go into that and ruin it if you have not read it yet.
Detective Shepard was there to help Evie and he was epitome of the perfect man. He has his secrets but no spoilers here.
Pick up this book for an enjoyable romantic mystery with plenty of humor to keep you entertained.
There will be plenty of surprises along the way.

Detective Shepard Novak was only trying to help Evie and baby Clue. Or so Evie thought. He had a secret that he was afraid she would remember and she would hate him for it. He was feeding her bits and pieces of things to help her remember her past. He was so kind and helpful and to top it off Clue loved him too. She could not help but fall in love with him and he with her. But Evie kept pushing to regain her memory and she did, it came back like a flood six months later and her heart broke all over again. She was mad as hell with Shepard for making her fall in love with him all over again. Before her amnesia, they were the best of friends who fell in love and then the unforgivable happened. She prayed everyday to forget him and then the accident happened that caused her amnesia. Her prayers ha come true.
Sosie wrote a heartbreaking story of a young woman trying to regain her memory and life after an accident caused her amnesia. Her desire to reconnect with a loving family was strong. She could not understand why no one was looking for her. She needed her family and the father of Clue. Clue needed her father to be in her life. The only person she could depend on for her and Clue, was the kindness of this very handsome detective. Shepard took this opportunity as a second chance to make Evie fall in love with him again and to help with Clue. He was determined not to give up, even when Evie regained her memory and all hell broke lose. His love for her and Clue was so strong and he kept true to his vow to always be there for her and Clue and supported her in her efforts in carrying on her Granna's legacy. I enjoyed reading this story. If you like stories with lots of drama with a mystery to solve, this is the story for you.
A quarter of my way through this book, I knew the baby daddy twist. Halfway through this book, I was willing to give it two stars--both earned by decent characterization and compelling, detailed scenes between a new mother and her baby. Now? After skimming the last quarter of this book just so I could be sure I got the "twist" right (and didn't sound like a total j*ck*ss in my review)? Ugh! One star, no soup for you!
I love a good pun more than the average person, but SERIOUSLY. The quip quota for anything short of an entire Aaron Sorkin series was met and surpassed by the third chapter of this book. The dialogue wasn't so much quick-witted as EXHAUSTING. To be fair, this is the third Sosie Frost book I've read this week--all free, mind you--and the previous two had this same dialogue style, so I knew what I was getting myself into. And I also knew to expect some childishness from supposedly "adult" main and supporting characters. But, I'm sorry, this one went too far. Too many puns, too much forced comedy (SPOILER*** 1) the pediatrician 's office debacle, 2) freaking baby ducks, 3) ice cream mafia?!?), and... A spineless baby daddy. But hey, what's a little cowardly manipulation when love is your motivator, am I right ladies? Nothing screams "I want and deserve a relationship with my child!" like lying to her mother for half a year. I've read my fair share of romance novels with shady H's before, but this guy gets off the hook way too easily. Meanwhile, the CPS agent--first character to question entrusting a newborn baby to a person recovering from a recent serious BRAIN injury--is written as an irredeemable see-you-next-Tuesday. Yep, there's a moral worth enforcing.
I am voluntarily reviewing this after having received a free copy. Wow! Just wow! Sosie Frost did it again! This was my second book by her and I was a sobbing mess! Sobbing mess = 5 Star rating to me! Always! Once I started reading, I couldn’t put this book down! It kept getting better and better. It evokes so many emotions! Not to mention Evie was HILARIOUS!!! I loved her quick wit and real sarcastic answer to anything! I just loved her and Shepard so much! Thank you for writing this book! I loved it whole-heartedly! It had such strong parts to it!
I will be the first one to say that this story, in term of story wise really was a 1, but besides the fact that MS. Frost was able to keep the sarcasm, the witty, the funny, the down to earth part all innocent yet very much woven throughout the whole book made this a super 5.
Evie and Shepard were the perfect individuals. Evie was at the borderline unnerving anyone reading it with her lack of common sense and this despair of finding her family, that she put herself and little girl at risk and in extreme danger. That was childish! Shepard in the mean time, he has a huge secret that he was keeping and was debating on how to rip the band aid off and still keep Evie or at least still hope that Evie will still have him. These two were so compatible, and so many times there were clues dropped that I realized that they knew each other or of each other and couldn't wait to know in what capacity.
MS. Frost, with a lot of tact, managed to give us a story so complicated yet easy to follow that at the end, it will leave you speechless on trying to figure out how did this happened and ended as such.
I had received several alert for this book, but never thought of reading it until, I couldn't find any more excuse and I did not regret it. I should have just jump right in it since the beginning, but all good thing happens last, and this was very, very, very good, but being such a fan it certainly will not be the last....
